Replace Exterior Mirrors with MirrorEye
MirrorEye consists of two high-definition (HD) cameras mounted on the side of a vehicle. These cameras replace the exterior mirrors and cover the statutory mirror classes II and IV. The driver is able to view the camera images in real time on a split-screen HD monitor in the window pillar of the vehicle, granting them the best possible view of road users both next to their vehicle and at an angle to the rear of their vehicle. A driver using the MirrorEye system can see more than when using conventional mirrors, since the cameras cover a larger field of vision. This means that the camera monitoring system increases traffic safety on the road.
What makes the camera mirror unique is the possibility of adding a class V camera to the same housing. This allows the driver to see blind spots alongside their vehicle, thereby helping to prevent accidents.
Save Costs with MirrorEye
Thanks to the compact design, the positioning on the body and the enhanced vision, it is easier to avoid damage and improve fleet utilization. In addition, the compact and aerodynamic design means that you can save on fuel. All of this contributes to a substantial reduction in the total cost of ownership.
Specific Design for Buses
MirrorEye has been specifically designed and developed for OEMs of buses and coaches. This is reflected in the compact design of the camera units, positioned against the side of the body of the bus. This is a big difference compared to conventional mirrors, which are installed at an angle to the windscreen and protrude significantly. MirrorEye therefore provides a considerable improvement in the maneuverability of the bus and reduces the risk of damage. In addition, the system offers bus and coach manufacturers much more freedom when designing new, pioneering buses.
The compact design of the MirrorEye camera units is universal, making MirrorEye suitable for any type of bus or coach. Only the interface between the camera units and the body of the bus is vehicle-specific.
