MirrorEye™ for Trucks: Mirror Replacement Camera System
Increase safety and reduce fuel consumption on your truck with the MirrorEye camera system. MirrorEye is Stoneridge-Orlaco's latest innovation in mirror replacement for trucks and buses.
MirrorEye increases safety by covering a larger field of vision than mirror classes II, IV and V. With a better view, you can drive in comfort and maneuver easily in all traffic situations. This increases safety for the driver and other road users.
What are the advantages of MirrorEye?
MirrorEye makes mirror adjustment a thing of the past and offers a comfortable working environment for truck drivers. Thanks to the optimum positioning of the monitors, every driver, whether large or small, always has a good view of the HD camera images. Since the monitors are installed in the direct field of vision, uncomfortable rotations of the body and head are no longer necessary.
MirrorEye always provides a sharp and detailed image, even when faced with low sun, rain, snow and dust. The cameras adjust effortlessly between light and dark conditions in tunnels using IRLED (Automatic Brightness Control) and also offer an optimum view at night. MirrorEye ensures that truck drivers can do their job safely and confidently.
With MirrorEye, you can achieve superior automotive quality in your fleet. This HD camera monitor system has been designed to perform in all conditions. The robust cameras are 50 G shock and vibration resistant, have the IP69K rating for dust and water resistance and can operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C.
What Components Make Up the MirrorEye System?
MirrorEye consists of two camera units, a cable harness and two 12.3-inch monitors.
For MirrorEye, Orlaco uses a two-component camera set for classes II and IV. The cameras are in a camera unit that is mounted on the body of the truck using a vehicle-specific interface. Class V cameras can be integrated into the camera units as an option.
The camera images are sent to the monitors via the cable harness. The cables were developed by Orlaco and are characterized by their high quality and robustness.
The real-time HD images from the cameras are displayed using a split screen on two 12.3-inch monitors. Just as with conventional mirrors, the view of class II is shown at the top of the monitor and the view of class IV is at the bottom. The images from the class V camera are displayed on an optional, separate 10-inch monitor.
What Other Vision Solutions Can I Include?
MirrorEye can be extended to cover classes I and VI. The rear and front-view camera images are integrated on the optional 10-inch monitor. The system can switch between images for classes I, V and VI by means of trigger signals, such as a change of direction or speed.
