Job description

Als Software Engineer you are responsible for programming (embedded) software for existing and future projects. In this way you are responsible for the timely and complete programming, modification and completion of embedded software. You analyze customer requirements and product definitions, determine design requirements and design software for products and/or projects using relevant software development tools. To ensure that the design optimally fulfils all requirements, you work closely with the project team, which consists of various disciplines. As a Software Engineer you report to the Product Development Manager.

In other words, as a Software Engineer:

  • You are responsible for the timely and complete programming, modification and finalization of embedded software;
  • You design software for products/projects using relevant software development tools;
  • You work closely with various disciplines as part of a project team to ensure that the design optimally fulfils all requirements;
  • You analyze customer requirements and product definitions, and determine design requirements;
  • You produce drawings and diagrams of the designs in various levels of detail;
  • You supplement data and are responsible for documenting drawings and designs;
  • You are responsible for verification and validation tests and you analyse test results;
  • You supervise projects in terms of technical content. You monitor functionality in relation to customer requirements and product definitions;
  • You monitor activity planning in relation to project schedules;
  • You are responsible for the maintenance of the required tools (software and hardware);
  • You contribute ideas for new developments in advanced engineering. You give suggestions and solutions based on personal expertise;

What do we want from you as a Software Engineer?

  • You are educated to higher professional education level (hbo level);
  • You followed a job-related study (IT), supplemented with knowledge of programming languages for embedded software (such as C).
  • You have knowledge of Linux video applications, Windows and various (embedded) operating systems;
  • You have knowledge of automotive core tools, such as PPAP, DFMEA, 8D and APQP;
  • You have knowledge of network techniques and thorough knowledge of software and hardware;
  • You are aware of relevant product safety and environmental legislation;
  • You have strong communication skills and can maintain contact with colleagues and clients.
