The viewing problem
As ships continue to get larger, this is resulting in an increasing number of viewing problems. Anything immediately in front of the bow is often invisible. Also, you often have no view or a limited view of the gangways and have no way of checking on the engine room. Therefore taking effective action, for example in the event of fire in the engine room, is not possible.

The Orlaco solution
The days of difficult manoeuvring at wharfsides or whilst passing through locks are over. Orlaco’s Maritime cameras are able to 'see' exactly what is happening along side the ship’s gangways and also show the precise lines of the vessel. The images are so real that it seems as if you have literally taken a step outside the cabin onto the ship’s or vessel’s deck.

The cameras provide ample visibility of the front deck of the ship or vessel, so that highly stacked containers or other obstacles on the deck do not cause any visibility problems. An additional camera can also be installed to the back deck, ensuring optimal visibility of this area. Orlaco Maritime improves the safety of your crew, passengers and cargo, even under extreme circumstances and in dangerous situations, for example on tankers. Clear and comfortable visibility is a basic requirement for optimum safety on our shipping routes. Together with the help of Orlaco’s Maritime system, you will always have sufficient visibility.

Applications
Due to the increasing number of cameras being installed on ships, cranes and drilling platforms, the need has arisen to simultaneously display multiple camera images. We regularly receive feedback from end users that a camera system in combination with various monitors takes up too much space. They also find it that becomes extremely confusing operating the camera’s various functions. Therefore, we have concluded there is a definite need for a system that provides a clear image and a well-ordered operating system on a single monitor. The fitter is often consulted as to which system will be used to operate the cameras and to select the images.

In combination with the Orlaco cameras, the Smart Display offers a perfect visibility solution. This 'smart' solution ensures optimum use of a single monitor. The camera and pan & tilt functions can be operated via a mouse pad (wireless), tracker ball or touch screen. The benefits of the Smart Display are the user friendly operating functions, the efficient use of space and the fact that the PC can be used for various purposes. The Smart Display can be used on an existing computer with a monitor.

Cameras integrated into a navigation screen The successful partnership between Orlaco and Periskal has made it possible to easily integrate Orlaco’s cameras into a navigation screen. The camera images can be displayed on a standard computer screen as well as stored in the log book. With the use of IP technology, the images are converted into a digital format and sent through the computer network to the pilot house. The conversion of the images into a digital format makes it possible to integrate the images with navigation and possible radar information. In the case of a collision, this information can be used to simulate the situation. If you wish to receive any further information, please contact your dealer.
