Only one thing matters at these logistical hubs: an efficient flow of goods, and the crucial factor here is loading and unloading ships and moving containers or bulk goods on the shipping premises. Maximum visibility for machine operators
Orlaco's camera/monitor systems for lifting equipment at quay terminals play an important part in this. The aim is to ensure maximum visibility for machine operators of all types of quay cranes and driving machinery, e.g. straddle carriers, reach stackers and empty container handlers. A camera system also makes it easier to read container numbers. The sharp images of the immediate vicinity provided by the cameras help machine operators position the vehicle, move the load and manoeuvre more efficiently — that is, more quickly, more focussed and with no damage to expensive goods or packaging. A safe and ergonomic solution
Of course, safety also plays a role alongside speed. Accidents are prevented because the machine operator can see the whole of the area around his vehicle just by looking at his monitor.
The Orlaco camera system is also an extremely ergonomic solution. The machine operator can view the monitor from a comfortable seated position, meaning he no longer has to strain his muscles and joints to look up, down, forwards or backwards.
