Orlaco supplies vision solutions for Liebherr heavy lift offshore crane
Orlaco has equipped the new MTC 78000 offshore crane from Liebherr with a camera/monitor system. The MTC 78000 has a lifting capacity of 1600 metric tonnes, making it one of the world's most powerful offshore cranes. Four cameras are fitted to provide the operator with a view of the load and the lifting site. The fire safety system includes a further four cameras.
This new offshore crane, the first of its kind to be produced by Liebherr, was constructed on a sea-going ship. The crane's applications will include constructing offshore platforms and wind turbines. The crane's slewing diameter is 9 metres and the jib is 87 metres long. The maximum lifting capacity of this maritime heavyweight is 1600 metric tonnes.
Intelligent crane view system
Liebherr uses Orlaco cameras and monitors. The crane view system comprises four zoom cameras connected to a central monitor, and Orlaco uses intelligent control technology in its central control unit.

Stands up to extreme conditions
The MTC 78000 is set to be used around the globe, which means the cameras have been made to fulfil the toughest of requirements. The hardware can withstand exposure to salt and weathering, and the cameras function at temperatures between -50 and +85 degrees Celsius. Orlaco developed the modular view system especially for Liebherr.
