Lattice harbour cranes
The viewing problem
The lattice harbour crane is an extremely important link in loading and unloading ships. Even though the crane operator is seated high up in the sky, he is still not able to completely oversee his working area, especially when starting to load a ship or when finishing unloading.
The Orlaco solution
The load view camera provides images of the working area and is fitted on the boom of the trolley; it is positioned in such a way that it looks vertically downwards on to the top of the hook. The monitor in the cabin ensures that the operator always has visibility whilst hoisting, regardless of the position of the hook.

The camera allows the crane operator to not only work more easily, but also ensures additional safety. The operator is able to take immediate action and, if necessary, verify instructions he has received from the contact person on the ground.

Applications
It is possible to connect a rear view camera to a lattice harbour crane. The crane operator is able to switch between the cameras with just a push of the button.

FAQ
With the help of a switcher, it is possible to connect three cameras to one monitor. The operator needs to just push a button to switch between the various cameras.
A quad makes it possible to view a maximum of four cameras simultaneously on one monitor. We advise you to use a 10" monitor. A screen splitter allows for viewing a maximum of two cameras at one moment. In this case, the standard 7" monitor is adequate.
Yes, a rear vision and front vision system can be extended with a navigation system. All of these three functions are then combined on a single monitor.
Yes, an existing load view vision system can be extended, (depending on the application that is needed) with a winch view, rear vision and/or front vision system.
The Orlaco camera systems for tower and lattice boom cranes can either be purchased or rented. A custom-made vision solution is available depending on the requirements of the customer.
Wireless connections are used mostly in telescope, tower and mobile tower cranes. The main reason for this is the variable distance between the camera and the monitor. A solid cable connection would be in these instances extremely vulnerable to damages due to the increased possibility of the cable breaking.
