Fire department vehicles
The viewing problem
Effective emergency aid is a combination of skill and speed. Fire engines rush to the site of the emergency because every second counts. Fire engines are specialist means of transport. Whether we are talking about sky lifts or crash tenders, every unit and its crew is specifically equipped and trained for the task in hand. No matter how reliable the material and how skilled the crew, there will always be blind spots around the vehicle.
The Orlaco solution
No matter how serious the situation is, thanks to Orlaco’s camera systems safety is never compromised, not even when the human eye fails.

Applications
Crash tenders
All over the world the ISO-certified Orlaco has become a permanent member of the crew on many crash tenders. Side and rear view cameras keep a sharp eye on the surroundings. The 10" monitor offers an unprecedented broad image and the recorder saves all of the camera information for evaluation. On the front side of the vehicle an exceptionally powerful duo has been installed. The lift and rotate unit not only consists of the 216 x zoom camera, but also Orlaco’s latest heat image camera. This camera sees right through the smoke and offers additional vital information where the human eye fails.

Municipals
When the water tender turns out, there is not a second to be lost. Whether the emergency occurs in an urban area or in the country, great speed is required. The side and rear view cameras support the driver in making decisions. The monitor in the cabin offers a true-to-life, pinpoint-sharp image. The system is fully modular with all Orlaco products and can even be integrated in combination with GPS navigation and the C2000 communication system. If required, routes can be programmed from the radio room. This way the commanding officer is optimally informed at all times. Of course, the heat image camera is there for fighting forest fires. Most of the time only one route is possible: right through the smoke!

Sky lifts
All previously mentioned viewing cameras are available for ladder engines and tower vehicles. In addition, special watertight systems are available for unmanned use of the basket or for support from the coach box. This way the zoom camera offers a good overview when fighting fires or for crowd control applications from the tower vehicle. When combined with the heat image camera, undiscovered victims can be found amongst the flames and smoke. Wireless? CANBUS? For Orlaco custom-made is the norm.

In the case of a calamity the driver is not able to programme the navigation system. The programming is therefore done by the co-driver or the commander on the second monitor.
