The viewing problem
Vehicles used in the environmental sector often operate in residential areas. These vehicles need to manoeuvre, reverse and take difficult and unclear corners more often than other road users.
The Orlaco solution
Orlaco’s camera systems provide the perfect solutions for these vision problems. These camera systems ensure excellent visibility of every situation enabling the environmental services to perform their tasks cleanly, efficiently and safely. Orlaco’s very first cameras were used in the cleaning sector and over the last twenty years, Orlaco has been developing and manufacturing vision solutions to ensure clear visibility on all types and models of cleaning vehicles. These range from rear loaders, side loaders and street sweepers to sewage sucker trucks and container vehicles.
Rear loaders
The viewing problem
Rear loaders are used for collecting refuse. Drivers of this particular type of vehicle experience the most visibility problems in the area behind their vehicle and this is the area where most work is carried out and where there is a lot of activity. It is therefore essential for the driver to have good visibility of this area. Mirrors do not offer solutions for these vision problems.
The Orlaco solution
Excellent visibility behind the vehicle is essential.

An Orlaco camera system makes the area behind the vehicle visible and ensures that the driver has excellent visibility of his work area. In this way, the driver is able to work safer, faster and more enjoyably.

In addition to the rear vision solution, there is also a vision solution available to ensure visibility of the area directly in front of the vehicle. All new commercial vehicles that have been licensed from 26th January 2007 must comply with European front vision legislation. For further information regarding front and rear vision and the accompanying vision solutions please refer to our web page for
Trucks.
Side loaders
The viewing problem
The ever-increasing popularity of side loaders has made them the waste collection vehicles of the future. An automated side loader truck only uses one operator, whereas a traditional truck often requires several people. The operator picks up the refuse roll containers with the mechanical arm that he operates using a joystick. However, it is impossible for the operator to do his work without the help of an extra pair of eyes.
The Orlaco solution
The Orlaco cameras keep an eye on the areas around the vehicle and ensure the operator has full visibility of the equipment. With the help of the monitor with the vertical marking line, the operator is able to position the arm in front of the container. In this way the efficiency of the system remains safe and guaranteed.

It is possible to install a camera in the hopper container and ensure visibility of what is being dumped in the container and how full it is.

Street sweepers
The viewing problem
Street sweepers often work on the side of the road. This is why the operator’s seat is situated in the front right-hand side of the cabin and not on the left. Turning to the left or reversing are difficult manoeuvres for the operator.
The Orlaco solution
Orlaco makes it possible for the operator to see the traffic situation and what is happening around the vehicle.

The most common applications are the rear vision camera, the side vision camera on the left-hand side and a camera positioned on the brushes. The camera that is positioned looking at the brushes/vacuum can be also used effectively to see if there is any collection of debris. In this way, the operator has sufficient visibility of the area and can work effectively. The operator is able to switch between the cameras either automatically or manually.

Orlaco’s Compact Colour Camera (CCC) has been specially developed for everyday situations involving shocks, knocks and vibrations. The camera displays a detailed view of the working area enabling the operator to work safer, faster, more efficiently and enjoyably.

FAQ
Yes, this is mandatory.
Yes, this is possible. A switcher makes it possible to connect a maximum of three cameras to one single monitor.
Two monitors must be used because both areas (front and rear) must be displayed individually.
This is possible with the help of the vertical marker line on the monitor. The marker can be set in such a way that when the marker line is in line with the container, the container can be picked up in one easy movement.
